About HxAR
Give every placeroom for another idea.
HxAR—Hexagon Augmented Reality—is the spatial platform created by Meta Home Limited to connect creativity, learning, property and play with the world around us.
Why HxAR exists
Digital experiences feel different when place matters.
HxAR began with a direct idea: people should be able to create and place augmented-reality content anywhere in the world. HexTiles gave those experiences a shared location language.
HxAR 2.0 takes that idea further with a redesigned AR experience library, improved HexTile maps, shared virtual spaces, collectables, Hx Vault and AR Snooker. Story builders, advanced virtual-property tools and specialised spatial tools continue to evolve beyond the confirmed release notes.
HXAR.io is a trading name of Meta Home Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom. HxAR is developed for iPhone and iPad and distributed through Apple’s App Store.
Founder Martin Smith introduced HxAR publicly in 2025. The platform is being developed around a simple long-term question: what becomes possible when a digital experience belongs to a place, but is not limited by the physical building there?
