Terms and conditions
Clear terms for HxAR and HxARBooks.
These terms describe the main conditions for accessing HXAR.io, using HxAR’s location-based and community features, and using the separate HxARBooks business app.
These terms cover HxAR and the separate HxARBooks app. Apple’s purchase and subscription terms also apply to transactions completed through the App Store.
Agreement and operator
HxAR, HxARBooks and HXAR.io are operated by Meta Home Limited. By using the relevant app or associated services, you agree to these terms and the policies referenced from them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Accounts
You are responsible for the activity associated with your account and for keeping access to your Apple account and device secure. Do not share authentication codes or attempt to access another person’s account.
Using HxAR safely and lawfully
You must follow applicable law, respect physical property and boundaries, remain aware of real-world hazards and follow the HxAR Safety and Community Guidelines.
Digital ownership, a HexTile, an AR placement or a virtual destination never grants physical access, land ownership or permission to enter a real location.
Content you provide
You retain ownership of content you create, subject to the rights of others and any licences attached to source material. You are responsible for having permission to upload, store and share it.
You grant Meta Home Limited a non-exclusive licence to host, process, reproduce and display your content only as needed to operate the selected HxAR or HxARBooks feature and according to the audience and sharing choices you make. Public content can be visible to other users.
Moderation
Meta Home Limited may investigate, restrict, remove or preserve content or accounts where reasonably needed to enforce these terms, address safety or rights complaints, protect the service or comply with law.
Purchases and virtual items
HxAR’s optional Hexagon Token packs are consumable in-app purchases processed through Apple and are subject to the price and purchase terms shown at the time. Virtual items and platform balances are service features; they are not legal tender, bank deposits, cryptocurrency or guaranteed investments.
In the source-reviewed HxAR 2.0 implementation, HexTile claims provide renewable one-year virtual ownership. They do not convey physical land ownership or permission to enter a location. Apple’s release notes do not specify these detailed renewal rules, so the information shown in the app at the time of a claim applies.
HxARBooks Pro is an optional subscription. Apple shows the price, billing period, renewal and cancellation information before purchase. Manage or cancel it through the Apple Account subscription settings.
Product availability, future prices and prospective economy mechanics may change. Purchased Hexagon Tokens do not expire, and changes do not remove a customer’s verified token balance, subject to applicable law.
Apple processes App Store refund requests and determines eligibility under its purchase terms. Nothing in these terms limits rights available under applicable consumer law.
Using HxARBooks
HxARBooks helps users create and organise business records such as jobs, quotations, invoices, expenses, wages, tax accounts, stock and inspection reports. It does not replace professional legal, accounting, payroll, tax or regulatory advice.
You are responsible for the accuracy of records, required backups, tax and business compliance, permissions given to workers or clients, and any decisions made using information in the app.
Service availability
HxAR and HxARBooks use evolving software, device capabilities, networks and third-party services. Continuous or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed. Keep independent copies of important original assets, documents and business records.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Meta Home Limited is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused by use of, or inability to use, the services.
HxAR users remain responsible for real-world decisions, physical movement, places entered and content relied on. HxARBooks users remain responsible for business, financial, employment and compliance decisions.
Ending use and changes
You may stop using either app and use its in-app account-deletion process. Meta Home Limited may restrict access where these terms are materially breached or where required for safety, security or law.
Updated terms will show a revised date. Material changes may also be communicated through the relevant app or the website.
