Privacy policy
Your data should have a clear reason for being there.
This policy explains the main categories of information associated with HxAR and the separate HxARBooks app. Read it alongside the App Privacy information on each current App Store listing.
This policy covers both HxAR and the separate HxARBooks app. Each product’s current App Store privacy information should be read alongside it.
Who is responsible
HxAR, HxARBooks and HXAR.io are operated by Meta Home Limited in the United Kingdom. HXAR.io is a trading name of Meta Home Limited.
Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to admin@hxar.io.
Information connected with HxAR
The information involved depends on the feature you choose. Apple’s current HxAR listing identifies contact information, user content, identifiers, usage data, diagnostics and surroundings as data that may be linked to you.
- Account and contact information: Apple user identifier, username, name and profile details you choose to add.
- User content: 3D assets, AR scenes, stories, virtual-property content, media, ratings and other material you save or publish.
- Location and surroundings: device location used for nearby features, location-linked content and environment understanding used to position AR.
- Purchases: Apple transaction identifiers, product information and HxAR wallet or ledger records used to credit verified purchases.
- Usage and diagnostics: product interaction, crash and performance information used to operate and improve reliability.
Why HxAR information is used
Information is used to authenticate accounts, provide profiles and app functionality, store and share content according to your choices, support location-based AR, maintain safety and moderation, diagnose faults and improve reliability.
Public usernames, public profiles and content you deliberately publish are intended to be visible to other HxAR users. Private content should not be treated as public unless you choose to publish or share it.
HxAR services and release boundaries
HxAR relies on Apple services including Sign in with Apple, iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit and Apple platform diagnostics for relevant authentication, storage, purchase and reliability functions.
HxAR 2.0 includes improved HexTile maps and shared virtual spaces. The source-reviewed project also contains optional Mapbox map and virtual-property views; Apple’s 2.0 notes do not name the map provider or confirm every detailed property interface. When a Mapbox-powered view is used, Mapbox can receive the network and location information needed to return map content, as described in its product privacy policy.
Service providers can receive information needed to provide their contracted functions or where disclosure is required by law. Their own policies explain any independent processing.
Location and surroundings
Precise foreground location and environment-understanding capabilities support map placement, nearby experiences and augmented-reality positioning. Optional background collectable discovery uses a coarse cell and broad area for crossing detection and private prompts.
Permission can be controlled through device settings. Limiting or disabling it can prevent nearby, map, background discovery or AR features from working.
Storage and security
Sign in with Apple controls account access. HxAR and HxARBooks use Apple iCloud and CloudKit for relevant service data. Some HxAR records are deliberately public or shared so other users can see published profiles and creations; they should not be treated as private storage.
Platform access controls, encrypted network connections and operational safeguards are used to protect service data. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect the device and Apple Account used to sign in, and report unexpected access to support.
Information connected with HxARBooks
HxARBooks is a separate UK business app. Apple’s current listing identifies purchase history, precise location, contact information, photos or video, other user content and a user identifier as data that may be linked to you for app functionality.
Depending on what a business user enters, HxARBooks records can include jobs, client and worker details, addresses, schedules, quotations, invoices, refunds, expenses, receipts, wages, tax accounts, stock, inspection reports, insurance or verification material, business cards and shared or private notes.
Business users are responsible for having an appropriate reason and permission to enter information about clients, workers and other people.
Why HxARBooks information is used
HxARBooks uses information to provide business records and documents, connect authorised people to work, sync the user’s data through Apple iCloud and CloudKit, process HxARBooks Pro subscriptions through StoreKit, and maintain security and reliability.
The App Store description states that HxARBooks data is stored in the user’s private iCloud container. Shared or public features are visible according to the choice made when the item is published or shared.
Age and other people’s information
Apple currently rates HxAR 16+ and HxARBooks 4+. A low App Store age rating does not authorise a child to enter business, employment, tax or client records. A person using HxARBooks for an organisation must have authority to handle the information entered.
Retention and account deletion
Account and private service records are generally kept while the relevant account is active, subject to records that must be retained for law, security, purchase integrity or a live dispute. Public content remains visible until it is deleted, removed through moderation or removed following an account-deletion or support request.
Use the in-app control to start permanent deletion. If deletion fails or previously published content remains visible, contact support and identify the affected item. This policy describes the HxAR 2.0 release; data categories and deletion behaviour for features still in development will be added before those features become available.
Purchase, subscription and security records may need to be retained for longer where required to reconcile transactions, prevent fraud, maintain financial records or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Begin permanent deletion in HxAR or HxARBooks through Profile → Edit Profile → Delete Account.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to obtain a portable copy of certain information. Identity verification may be required before a request is completed.
UK users may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Material changes will be reflected by changing the updated date and, where appropriate, providing notice through HxAR or the website.
