First Look at the HxAR 3D Shape Maker

An early look at HxAR 3D Design Studio, an in-development creation workspace expected for HxAR 2.1.

A development build of HxAR 3D Design Studio, with a top-plane grid, drawing tools, and Pen and AI modes. The 3D Shape Maker is expected for HxAR 2.1; features and availability may change.

A first look at what is being built

With HxAR 2.0 now available, work is already under way on the next update. The 3D Shape Maker is being developed as an iPad creation workspace for sketching with Apple Pencil or touch and turning precise 2D profiles into editable 3D forms.

The development screen currently carries the HxAR 3D Design Studio title. Its name, interface and feature set may change as work continues.

Inside the current workspace

The submitted image shows the early Draw workspace on the Top plane. A 1 mm grid, X and Y position readout, edge and region counts, an orientation cube and a vertical tool rail keep the sketch surface measurable and organised.

The current development build includes a growing set of drawing and editing tools, 3D preview and extrusion, direct face and edge editing, materials, and undo and redo.

  • Sketch on a selected plane using Apple Pencil or touch on iPad.
  • Build with lines, rectangles, circles and other profile tools on a millimetre grid.
  • Turn closed profiles into 3D forms and continue editing their faces and edges.
  • Use the orientation cube to move between drawing planes and 3D views.

What is still in development

The Folders and AI controls visible in this early interface point to work that is not complete. AI-assisted generation, saved folders, cloud persistence and model export are still being built and should not be treated as available features.

Expected for HxAR 2.1

The 3D Shape Maker is expected for HxAR 2.1. This is a development preview rather than a release promise: its scope, interface, timing and final availability may change before the update reaches the App Store.
